1975, oversize hardcover edition, American West Publishing, Palo Alto, CA. 160 pages. Lovely title. Black and white / full-color photos throughout. Printed on nice coated stock. David Muench is the celebrated landscape photographer, whose work was often found in Arizona Highways magazine. The author is a gifted writer who specializes in Western history. Here we have the story of mountain men who found a new way of life in a wilderness area that was vigorous and naturally beautiful. A pictorial history of what was once there and animal life that survives to this day. Very nicely done.

Item Condition: Used Good. Dust jacket has some wear and small tears along the sides. Hardcover has some minor wear along the sides, scuffs and marks. Spine has some wear on the top and bottom. Pages are clean and the binding is secure.
