Thomas Paine, a patriot and author during the Revolutionary War, wrote pamphlets such as “Common Sense” and the “American Crisis” series, letting people know independence was the only choice, the right choice. Paine was part of the French Revolution and wrote “The Rights of Man,” primarily to defend the criticisms of Edmund Burke. Paine believed there is a natural right of the people and the principle of majority rule. The goal of the state is freedom and independence; he asserts happiness is the natural right of all people. This beautiful copy of “The Rights of Man” is historical and highly collectible.

Item Condition: Used Good. 1989 edition. Leather hardcover has some minor wear, scuffs and marks. No dust jacket. Spine has some wear on the top and bottom. Gold pages have some small scuffs but largely are clean and the binding is secure.
