The first collection of humorous short stories from the author of The Four Million, his stories deal for the most part with ordinary clerks, policemen and waitresses and often use twist endings which turn on an ironic or coincidental circumstance in his stories. Most of his stories are set in his contemporary present, the early years of the 20th century. Many take place in New York.
Item Condition: Used Acceptable. 1919 edition. Hardcover has significant wear, scuffs, small marks, stains and small tears. No dust jacket. Spine has significant reading creases and wear, small tears on top and bottom. Pages have some marks and small tears on some pages but largely are clean. Binding is slightly loose.
