Tall and hefty quartos, green buckram boards with gilt spine imprinting, 362 text pages plus the 264 color plates, which are largely one per page, hence add about 200 pp., for the two volumes. Near Fine, being touched at spine ends and corners (see scans), and having several quite small spots of dust on covers (see scans also). Text and color photographs by true scholars throughout. A massive, historic, handsome and very scarce set in the field. Grace your shelves with this set – strong shelves. Don't let them lay about on the table. LG12

Item Condition: Used Good. 2 volumes with green covers. Original 1918 edition. Hardcovers have some light wear and fading. Bottom of spine on volume 2 is slightly frayed. Some yellowing on page edges and foxing on first pages. Pages are clean and binding is secure. There are a few plant samples which were pressed in the books at some point in the distant past.
