Fruity Weave 6:43 — — — — — — — Working its way up from the dregs of the San Diego club scene where the band scarcely finished a full set due to ?certain reasons,? to its state of now reigning in the San Francisco Bay area, fREEX has always been a band well-ahead of its time. In 2006, fREEX recorded and released their debut LP, ?To Save The World? through City Hall Records, an independent San Francisco label most noted for it?s local raps acts such as Mac Dre, AP.9, Jacka, and Cognito, in 2006. Finally legitimized with an independent CD, ?To Save The World? was a testament to fREEX? ability to reinvent the Rock formula. As such, the album successfully took seemingly impossible chord structures and transformed them into catchy, beat-driven creations of chaotic proportions. Under the artistic direction of mega producer, Mike Mosley (2Pac, E-40, TQ), the album spawned fan favorite singles such as, ?Mental Rental,? ?Box,? ?Some Teenage Loser,? and ?Leon.? The songs on that album blended catchy, dynamic rhythms with intense guitar and schizoid vocals and was refreshingly free of that ubiquitous negative energy. Over the next three years with consistent touring and occasional TV and radio appearances, ?To Save The World? became an underground and regional success that garnered college and underground radio airplay and a loyal Internet following on social networking sites with their music videos. — — Another listing by Zip
