Description

Description is only for “Volume One”. A very detailed book, a Southwestern version of a “Who’s Who” in Agriculture, Industry and Business; within New Mexico during the first half of the 20th century. It can be an exciting read for many looking up surnames of the past. As well as a known historical reference that lends itself to being a well-documented list of undisputed persons of known legitimacy as business persons of New Mexico’s Southwest. The black and white images often include the husband’s wives; and both of their formal signatures. The interior portraits give an interesting insight as to current fashions and even military outfits. It’s a keeper for genealogists who could require signature proof for wills, etc. Many illustrious names such as “Parker” also grace the pages; as a time spent with a foothold in the greater southwest. The Index pages help out, listing the hundreds of notable south-western families that are discussed within the volume; many of the families were also in association with raising of sheep and goats as well as cattle. Includes a map of New Mexico.
